Melnik, Czech Republic

Melnik is a small town to the north of Prague. It is reached by bus from Prague in about 45 minutes. The town is found at the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers. The town has a castle which you can tour - each room is a different color, and is filled with artifacts of the Lobkowicz family. The castle is on a hill overlooking the rivers, and next to an onion-domed church typical of the region. There is also a wine cellar in the basement that you can tour, and small (60 KC, less than $2) or large wine tastings are offered.
