Prague spans the river Vltava. The Vltava, or the Moldau as it is better known in English, was the inspiration for Smetana's famous work by that name. The Vltava is home to many swans and ducks in Prague, and the local population seems to contribute to their survival by giving them stale bread. In warmer weather, tour boats run up and down the river. Another pasttime of the locals when it is warmer is to fish in the river- although I don't know that I would want to eat anything that came out of that water.
