Toulouse, France -"La Ville Rose"

and Environs

More photos of the Toulouse area should be available in August. Please check back!

Toulouse is the second or third largest city in France, after Paris. It is a university town, and in fact I attended school there for a year. None of the guidebooks I have now mention this city, but it is very nice. Toulouse sits on the Garonne River in the Midi-Pyrénées region.

Of interest are the Cathedral of St. Sernin, the échurch Les Jacobins, the Capitole and Musee des Augustins.

Additionally, the surrounding areas have a lot to offer: canoeing on the Aveyron river in the gorges of the Aveyron valley, gardens in Tarn, beaches, the countryside at Lézat.
